Independence, MO —
The Little Blue Valley Sewer District recently received its first-ever Gold Peak Performance Award from the National Association of Clean Water Agencies. The Peak Performance Awards program recognizes public wastewater treatment facilities for outstanding compliance records.

NACWA recognized more than 400 Peak Performance Award facilities during the association’s 2010 summer conference July 20 through 23 in San Francisco. The Gold Peak Performance Award recognizes facilities that have obtained 100 percent compliance with their National Pollution Discharge Elimination System permit for the 2009 calendar year. The Little Blue Valley Sewer District also received three Silver Peak Performance Awards, which recognize facilities that receive no more than five NPDES permit violations per year.

The Little Blue Valley Sewer District completed a $71 million plant improvements project in 2006 that increased plant capacity to 52 million gallons per day and converted the innovative treatment process to conventional wastewater treatment.
