Greenville, S.C. (August 25, 2010)— Renewable Water Resources (ReWa) is proud to announce that all ten of its Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTP) received 2010 Peak Performance Awards from the National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA). The Peak Performance Awards program recognizes public wastewater treatment facilities for their outstanding compliance records in the 2009 calendar year.  NACWA was proud to recognize over 400 Peak Performance Award facilities during the Association’s 2010 Summer Conference and 40th Annual Meeting, held July 20-23, 2010 in San Francisco, California.

“ReWa is an outstanding example of environmental efforts.   NACWA is honored to showcase the achievements of ReWa and our nation’s public wastewater utilities through the Peak Performance Awards Program.” Ken Kirk, NACWA’s Executive Director.

NACWA presented the prestigious Platinum Peak Performance Award to Georges Creek, Gilder Creek and Mauldin Road Facilities. Platinum Awards recognize 100 percent compliance with National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permits over a consecutive five year period.

Gold Peak Performance Awards were given to Durbin Creek, Grove Creek, Lower Reedy, Marietta and Taylors WWTPs, recognizing 100 percent compliance for 2009. NACWA’s Silver Peak Performance Award was presented to Pelham and Piedmont WWTPs for its outstanding compliance records in 2009. The Silver Peak Performance Awards recognize the achievement of member agencies for receiving no more than five NPDES permit violations.
