City Wastewater Earns Clean Award

The City of Corpus Christi Wastewater Department has received Peak Performance Awards for 2008 from the National Association of Clean Water Agencies for outstanding achievement at the city’s six wastewater treatment plants. That includes a Platinum Award for the Whitecap Plant, which recognizes the facility for attaining 100-percent compliance with the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permits for 12 consecutive years. The Broadway, Oso, Allison and Laguna Madre Wastewater Treatment Plants have received the NACWA Gold Award for 100-percent NPDES permit compliance for an entire year. The Greenwood Wastewater Treatment Plant received a Silver Award from the association.
