For over two decades, pretreatment professionals from across the country have benefited from the utility-focused speakers and panels – and the unique networking opportunities provided by NACWA’s National Pretreatment and Pollution Prevention Workshop & Training.  Join us May 12 – 15 in Greenville for the only conference designed especially for pretreatment professionals.

Updates and Topics on Agenda

This year’s Workshop program will focus on topics that promise to be important for pretreatment programs in the future, as well as issues that are currently affecting these programs.  U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) staff will provide the latest updates on National Pretreatment Program initiatives, and Matt Arduino from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will discuss the Ebola virus and other potential risks to wastewater utility workers.  Panel presentations will address the proposed dental amalgam separator rule, management of pretreatment programs, emerging contaminants updates, best management practices for industrial users, and more!

Pre-Workshop Pretreatment Training Courses: Beginner & Advanced

After a successful Pretreatment Training Course last year, we will be bringing it back for new and old in the industry.  The Introduction to the Pretreatment Program for Wastewater Utilities Training is geared toward pretreatment professionals in the first few years of their pretreatment careers.  It will cover all of the basics that you need to know but were afraid to ask. Topics include industrial user identification; permitting industrial users; pretreatment standards; local limits; inspection and monitoring; reporting; data management; enforcement; as well as resources and compliance activities.  And Advanced Training Course will also be offered – check back soon for details!  Separate registration is required for the training course.

Workshop Offers Multiple Networking Opportunities

As in past Workshops, participants will have the opportunity to meet with the pretreatment coordinators from their regions during the EPA Regional Roundtable session.  In addition, building on the success of previous years, we will once again have Pretreatment Issues Roundtable discussions.  These two sessions are scheduled to allow participants to meet in small groups and talk about issues their utilities are currently facing or issues that they expect to come to the forefront in the future.
