Salem — The city of Salem Willow Lake Water Pollution Control Facility will receive a Gold Peak Performance Award, presented by the National Association of Clean Water Agencies.

Willow Lake received the award for treatment works that have achieved 100 percent compliance with their discharge permit for a year.

Salem's Willow Lake Water Pollution Control Facility serves more than 221,000 citizens in the Salem area and treats up to 105 million gallons per day during wet weather.

This is the eighth straight year that Willow Lake has received an award of this type.
