ach year, NACWA’s
Peak Performance Awards
program recog-
nizes Member Agency facilities for excellence in wastewa-
ter treatment as measured by their compliance with their
National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES)
permit requirements. This year, 138 treatment facilities were hon-
ored at NACWA’s 2012 Summer Conference with
Platinum Peak
Performance Awards
signifying their 100% compliance for five or more
years. NACWA was proud to honor 19 facilities that earned
Platinum
awards for the first time. An additional 119 facilities achieved the
remarkable accomplishment of maintaining perfect compliance for
time periods ranging from six to 25 years.
A number of NACWA Member Agency facilities also earn
Gold
Awards
for maintaining perfect compliance for a full calendar
year, and
Silver Awards
for no more than five violations a year. The
Association was honored to recognize, along with our Platinum
Award winners, 174
Gold
and 136
Silver Award
honorees for their
commitment to excellence. This year NACWA paid tribute to a to-
tal of 448 facilities with
Peak Performance Awards
. This outstand-
ing accomplishment signifies NACWA members’ commitment to
environmental protection and represents the diligence and hard
work of each agency’s employees. NACWA congratulates all its
