Cathy Gerali
District Manager
Metro Wastewater Reclamation District
Denver, CO

Cathy Gerali was unanimously selected by the 67-member Board of Directors of the Metro Wastewater Reclamation District (Metro District) in January 2008 to succeed the previous District Manager, Robert W. Hite, who died December 4, 2007.  She was chosen after a nationwide search that began when Hite announced in April 2007 that he would step down in December.

The Metro District collects and treats about 140 million gallons of wastewater a day at the Robert W. Hite Treatment Facility five miles northeast of central Denver.  This facility is rated for a design flow of 220 million gallons a day (30-day average) and is the largest wastewater treatment facility in the Rocky Mountain West.

Before being selected as District Manager, Ms. Gerali served as the Metro District’s Deputy Manager since 2005.  She was the strategic planning and internal control officer prior to that, and has held several accounting and financial management positions.  She began at the District in 1982 as an account clerk.

Since the early 1990s, Ms. Gerali has been responsible for the Metro District’s long-term capital planning and financing.  She also has over 25 years experience with the District’s rate setting programs, including annual charges and connection fees.

Ms. Gerali is the Metro District’s fifth District Manager.  She holds an MBA from the University of Colorado at Denver.  She graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas in 1981 with a BS in business and public administration. programs.
