NACWA encourages its Member agencies to submit a nomination for the 2009 National Environmental Achievement Awards (NEAA).  This distinguished awards program celebrates those extraordinary local, state, and federal elected/appointed officials and pioneering member agencies that continually strive to make a positive impact on the environment, their utility, and their community.  Member utilities may submit nominations in both the individual and agency categories for exceptional advocacy efforts or unique and creative projects that demonstrate a strong commitment to clean and safe waters and a healthy, sustainable environment.

Individual honorees will be recognized at a ceremony and reception during the National Clean Water Policy Forum, at the Renaissance Washington DC Hotel in Washington, DC, May 3-6, 2009.  Agency winners will be honored at NACWA’s Summer Conference and 39th Annual Meeting in Milwaukee, Wisconsin at the InterContinental Milwaukee, July 14-17, 2009.
