Subject: Water Sector Cybersecurity Awareness Survey
Reference: AA 16-14

To coincide with National Cybersecurity Awareness Month, NACWA and the national water and wastewater organizations – Association of Metropolitan Water Agencies (AMWA), American Water Works Association (AWWA), National Association of Water Companies (NAWC), National Rural Water Association (NRWA), Water Environment Federation (WEF), and WaterISAC – request your participation in the Water Sector Cybersecurity Awareness Survey. We ask that both utilities and companies that work with utilities on cybersecurity participate in the survey.

Please complete the short survey, which should only take 5-8 minutes, at your earliest opportunity. The response deadline is October 28.

The associations – in collaboration with the Water Sector Coordinating Council – are working jointly to determine the awareness by the Water and Wastewater Systems Sector about available best practices and tools for improving cybersecurity, particularly the security of process control systems. The groups also want to identify the challenges the sector faces in implementing best practices. The aggregated findings will be used to shape efforts to inform the cyber risk management practices at water and wastewater systems.

Your survey responses will be anonymous – no identifying information is being requested and your IP address will not be captured. Only select association staff will have access to individual responses, and none of the organizations are subject to disclosure laws. Survey responses are being collected by WaterISAC, the water sector’s official security information sharing center.

Your utility or company may receive this survey request from multiple organizations, and we apologize for any duplication. To avoid submitting duplicative responses, please confer internally before completing the survey. If you have any questions about the survey, please contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

NACWA and the other water sector associations thank you in advance for your contribution.
