Hotel Accommodations & Rates

The National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA) has secured a special group rate of $139 per night (single/double), plus applicable taxes, at the Intercontinental Kansas City at the Plaza.  Reservations must be made by Friday, October 14, 2016 to receive the special rate.  After this date, NACWA must release the unreserved rooms, and reservations will be accepted on a space available basis only with no guarantee that the discounted rate will apply.

To ensure a hotel room, contact the Intercontinental Kansas City at the Plaza in Kansas City, MO at 1.866.856.9717.  Be sure to identify yourself as a NACWA Law Seminar & Consent Decree Workshop Attendee.  You may also make your reservation online at the Intercontinental Kansas City at the Plaza website.  On the left side scroll down, click on group code and enter “CWL” and select “apply” in order to receive the discount.  Note: Check-in time is 4:00 pm; check-out time is 11:00 am; baggage storage is available for your convenience.  Any requests for late check-out should be directed to the Hotel.  

Registration Information

You may register for the 2016 National Clean Water Law Seminar and the 2016 Consent Decree Workshop in various methods.  There is a $100 discount for attendees who pay registration for both events.  If you intend to register online for both events, please be sure to register for the Law Seminar first.  Once that registration is processed, you will receive a discount code which you may then apply to the Consent Decree Workshop.   Please note that the discount is intended solely for the fully paid registrant and non-transferable.

  • Mail/Fax: download and complete the registration form and send it with payment to NACWA.

Full seminar registration fees include access to all sessions Tuesday through Thursday and an evening reception on Wednesday. Registered attendees will also receive access to all available session handouts, speaker biographies, as well as a participants list.  Law Seminar meals included are:  a plated lunch on Wednesday, as well as light food and beverage at the Wednesday reception.  Consent Decree Workshop meals included are:  continental breakfast on Friday; a plated lunch on Thursday, as well as light food and beverage at the Thursday reception.  There will also be morning and afternoon beverage service Tuesday afternoon through Friday morning.

Cancellation/Substitution Policy

All registration cancellations and refund requests must be made in writing.  A full refund will be made if NACWA receives the cancellation by October 17, 2016.  Thereafter, a $300 cancellation fee will be applied.  Submit all requests via e-mail to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Substitution of registrations is permitted prior to the Seminar or Workshop as long as they are received no later than Monday, October 31, 2016.  Only one substitution is permitted per original registrant. 


We want you to be comfortable so you can enjoy your experience! Therefore, business casual dress is strongly encouraged. We suggest bringing a light sweater or jacket with you during the day as meeting rooms are air conditioned.

General Waiver & Release

By registering for this National Association of Clean Water Agency (NACWA) sponsored meeting/conference, each registrant acknowledges and assumes all risks associated with participation in the meeting and any associated on and off-site events/activities/tours (collectively “associated events”). Each registrant agrees, on behalf of him/herself, heirs and assigns, to waive and release, NACWA, its employees, directors, officers, volunteers, agents, successors, licensees, assigns, vendors, and sponsors (collectively “NACWA”) from any and all claims, liabilities, or causes of action arising from participation in this meeting and any associated events whether or not such damage, injury or loss may occur on the premises of the meeting, at off-site venues, in participating hotels or on event ground transportation.

Consent to Use Image

Registrant grants full permission to NACWA to take any and all photographs, motion pictures, recordings, or any other record (collectively “images”) of registrant in connection with this event and to copyright, use and publish the same in audio, photographic or video format for any lawful purpose. Registrant agrees that NACWA is not responsible for unauthorized use of the images. Registrant further acknowledges that he/she is not entitled to compensation and that the images may appear with or without the registrant’s name.

Continuing Education Credits

If you are interested in Continuing Legal Education Credits specifically, please visit the CLE Page and be sure to sign-in on the daily attendance sheet.  CLE forms will be made available on Friday, the final day of the Seminar.  Simply stop by the NACWA registration desk to pick up your CLE letter.

Bringing a Family Member?

Do you have partner or family member joining you in Kansas City, MO?  Be sure to register them so that they can join you at NACWA reception.  Please Note: Complimentary guest registration is intended solely for spouses/domestic partners or members of a registrant’s immediate family and cannot be used to register professional colleagues.

Ground Transportation

The Intercontinental Kansas City at the Plaza is approximately 22 miles from the Kansas City International Airport (MCI). The hotel does not offer a complimentary shuttle; however, there are several transportation alternatives:

Taxi Cab:
The fare from MCI to the hotel is approximately $70 and will take 30-45 minutes.  You may find one of several taxi companies just outside baggage claim at the airport.

Super Shuttle:
Available at MCI– representatives are available at all area airports or by phone at 800.258.3826.  Note that the guests must make their own reservations with Super Shuttle to arrange for return transport to the airport.

Car Rental:
NACWA selected Avis Rent-A-Car as the official car rental company for this meeting.  Discounts are available by calling Avis directly at 800.331.1600. Our Avis Worldwide Discount Number is T563400.

Hotel Parking:
The hotel has valet parking available at $20 per night with ‘in and out’ privileges.  They also offer $15 self-parking with ‘in and out’ privileges.
